As well as sharing computer skills,
the SeniorNet Association is aware of
the benefit of interacting with each other on a social basis. SeniorNet's 15th Birthday Celebration We celebrated our 15th Birthday with a lunch in the Eyeliner Room at the Ipswich Turf Club on 8th June 2010. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely and the room was packed with around 120 happy people including invited guests Shayne Neumann MP and Mayor Paul Pisasale. Some of our dedicated volunteers were presented with certificates acknowledging the many years they have supported SeniorNet and the Manager of the ANZ Bank at Booval, Julia Macleod presented SeniorNet with a donation of $1,000. Another highlight of the day was the ceremonious cutting of our birthday cake.
Woodlands Outing Eighteen SeniorNet members travelled to Woodlands of Marburg for a tour and morning tea. A staff member met us and acted as our tour leader. From 2nd floor bedrooms and the wrap around verandas with the wonderful views, down to the cool cellar we followed our leader and heard stories about the previous residents. Refurbishment of the mansion continues. Morning tea was served in one of the cedar lined dining rooms and after enjoying our tea and scones, we were invited to look over the chapel and the grounds. We were given a map to explore the cemetery, the grotto and the gardens at our leisure. It was a very enjoyable morning indeed.
